![]() In 2011 Elkdale has adopted an Acts 1:8 Missions strategy. It is the desire of Elkdale to influence Selma, Alabama, the United States, and the Nations for the Gospel. Locally the church has developed a partnership with the elementary school located next door to it. In addition, the church in 2011 was involved partnering with the local Sav-A-Life ministry and plans to continue that partnership in the upcoming years. Due to the recent tornadoes in Alabama, 2011 and 2012, the church has also been involved in the disaster relief efforts in our own state. Several staff members and lay members are official SBC disaster relief trained and qualified. Nationally, in 2011 Elkdale began what hopes to be a long-term partnership with Laurel Lakes Baptist Camp in Kentucky. They have a fantastic ministry. In the summer of 2011, we were able to take 60 people on a family oriented Missions trip to Laurel Lakes. It was a wonderful time and plans are underway for the summer of 2012. In the Fall of 2011, Bro. Cory and Allen Wilkinson previewed an international missions opportunity in Guatemala. They had a wonderful week of outreach and ministry. Plans are underway for a trip in the early fall of 2012. Please see below the application process to be involved with Elkdale Missions: |
